West-London newcomer Unflirt has dropped the impressive new single, ‘Out Of Time’. It’s an effortlessly melodic cut that shows off her candid writing style and a slowly building mixture of smooth acoustic guitar chords and subtle electronics. She says that the track “is about coming to terms that something is over. I think it encapsulates the whole process from denial to acceptance, and it’s a song that helped me accept that simply some things are just not meant to be, no matter how much I wanted them to be.” She wears her Filipino heritage on her sleeve, with her childhood musical memories combining with the layered guitar work of Jimi Hendrix and King Krule and the intimacy of Brazilian lyricism to form a unique style.
